Dardo Plus

Addressable Emergency Lighting Solution

Dardo Plus is an automatic system that can control emergency lighting fixtures. This control monitors the fixtures' battery and fault status.

These types of units use an interface circuit that communicates with a control unit that assigns two numbers to each individual light. The installer can use these switches to identify the light by assigning a number. This number is used in the fault messages generated by Dardo Plus. Because the numbers are two-digit, they can range from 01 to 00 (00 representing 100). This means the maximum number of lights a unit can control is 100.

Tests performed by the control unit. Tests performed manually, instantly, using the keyboard. Tests run automatically, using a schedule.

If a fault occurs, the Dardo Plus control unit generates a written report in the display unit indicating the faulty unit number and the type of fault. It is also possible to monitor the entire system and manage main functions remotely or from a computer running Dardo Plus PC Lite, a dedicated software program.

The maximum number of units that can be connected is four, and these four units form a group. A maximum of eight groups can be connected to a single printer. This means that a maximum of 32 units can be connected to a single printer. Considering that each unit can be assigned 100 addresses, a total of 3,200 different units can be printed from a single printer. Emergency lighting fixtures that can be connected to a single unit are the Exiway-One and Quick Signal series, which feature special Dardo communication.

Units required to create a complete architecture

  • Dardo Plus control unit,

  • Printer module,

  • Communication module,

  • Software,

  • Address tester.

The 'Address Tester' is an optional monitoring device designed for the Dardo Plus system. It is used to monitor Dardo lighting units. It indicates the number of units connected to the line, whether mains power is available for charging the units, whether the light is on/off, and whether autonomy is configured for 3 or 1 hour.

It has two communication modules. The Dardo Communication Module (DCM) allows the Dardo Plus control unit to communicate with a computer via a direct RS232 connection, Ethernet, an analog modem (RS232 connection), or a GSM/GPRS modem (RS232 connection). The Dardo Lon Module (DLM), as its name suggests, allows the Dardo Plus control unit to interface with LON environments such as building management systems. The maximum number of Dardo Plus emergency lighting fixtures that can be connected to a single DLM is 20.
